Who I Am
My name is Jerry Holton. Jerome County is my home — this is where I raised my family, built my business, and learned the value of putting citizens first.
I built a small business and spent the last 30 years doing honest work. When I say I will do a job, I show up and do it right. I believe in keeping my word. With the support of my friends, this community, and my wife Loretta, I have worked hard to earn the trust of my neighbors.
Over the last few years, I have watched county government drift away from its basic duties: protecting private property rights and maintaining transparency. Too often, decisions are made without listening to the people who will live with the consequences. The Lava Ridge Project is one clear example — landowners and families treated like obstacles instead of partners.
I have been publicly attacked for speaking up. I have been called a nuisance and dismissed. I do not have fancy credentials, and I am not trying to impress anyone. I am running because Jerome County deserves a commissioner who answers to the public — not special interests, not large corporations, not groups looking to spend your money on their projects.
Landowners are partners, not obstacles. Your property rights will be defended.
Clear agendas, proper notice, accessible public records, and real public input — not rubber stamps.
Your tax dollars spent wisely, not funneled to outside interests or conflicts of interest.
County government should stay in its lane — not acting as banker, developer, or realtor.
I will never support illegal or unconstitutional restrictions on your rights — period.
Where I Stand
Jerome County faces real challenges — from unchecked development to government overreach. Here is what I will fight for from day one as your Commissioner.
Decisions affecting your land must include your voice. I will oppose projects that harm private property rights without genuine input from all affected residents and landowners.
Industrial wind & solar farm development threatens Jerome County's agricultural heritage and way of life. I will stand firm against outside corporations overriding local community interests.
No more surprise decisions, last-minute agendas, or runaround on public records. Citizens deserve clear notices, plain-language explanations, and real opportunities for input.
The current commissioners attempted to ban firearms in county offices — knowing it was likely illegal. That kind of lawless overreach cannot stand. I will always respect your constitutional rights.
Economic growth should serve Jerome County residents first. I support local businesses and sensible development that respects our values — not growth that benefits outside interests at our expense.
The close ties between family members, friends, and businesses and economic development groups exercise too much influence. I will work to expose and eliminate behind-the-scenes influence on county decisions.
